I have a friend that I have dinner with monthly for years and we take turns finding spots and switch off paying. I also have food and fellowship with my friends from freshman year of college where we take turns hosting and playing games like Taboo and enjoying each other’s company. The group has grown to about 20 and we’ve increased frequency of events from quarterly to almost monthly! Friends are the family we choose.

Stealing this lol! Love the monthly dinners and the fact that y'all switch off finding spots shows so much intention and commitment to the friendship. Couldn't agree with that last sentence more. Indeed they are!

Oooh love this topic! :D I loveee voice memo-ing. I have one friend who I SOLELY communicate with via voice memo. Lol Sometimes she'll send like an hour worth of a memos and I'll listen to them like a podcast.

Oh, that's so interesting! You can cover so much ground in voice notes. Love that!

Great post! Hope you and your gworl have a fun hang. What are your thoughts on just catching up with friends vs doing something that will create new memories. Sometimes I feel like I be talking bout the same 5 things with people I’ve known a long time.

Real. Creating new memories is top tier, but I wish it were easier, and sometimes catching up is the easier thing to do. Nothing wrong with it! But I think when catching up, it's important to show it's not just a routine checklist, but it's because you genuinely want to invest in those friendships. And (to me), wanting to talk to the same people about the same things can show how locked in we are rather than it being mundane.
